Hello dear #humptakes readers. This will be the last installment for 2017. It’s been a fun year and I can’t wait to see what next year will bring us in the Sporting realm. I do know one thing that’s coming down the pike for this site you’re growing to love and I personally cannot wait for y’all to see what we here at 3U3D have in store for you. Now, without further ado…
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT A CATCH IS ANYMORE?!?
As a lifelong Lions fan, I have been unsure of what qualifies as a catch for a long time. When the Calvin Johnson rule became a thing back in 2010, I gave up any hope of ever understanding. Because Jesse James caught the ball and scored a TD. He may have slightly fumbled it in the process, but it was a catch. Except apparently, dthe NFL doesn’t think so. At this point it would seem catches are like suspensions for the NFL. No ones can clearly define the rules surrounding them and every single one is up for discussion.
INJURIES, INJURIES, INJURIES
This has been a bad year for injuries in the NFL. This past week was no different. Aaron Rodgers returned to action, had a miserable game, and returned to the IR. He didn’t get reinsured, everyone just finally realized how foolish it was to bring him back so soon in the first place. DeVante Adams, however, did sustain a concussion during the game. However, the biggest injuries from the week have got to be the partial calf tear of Antonio Brown, the lower back strain of Kennan Allen, and the high ankle sprain of Marquise Lee. None of these injuries should be season-ending (providing the Chargers make the playoffs) but these are the three WRs I have ridden into the fantasy finals with. Add to that Zeke Elliot having one more game on his suspension and I am doomed. DOOMED.
PRO BOWL SELECTIONS CAME OUT TUESDAY
Does anyone care? I mean seriously, do the players even care? Is there a worse All-Star type game than the Pro Bowl?
8 + 24 = LEGEND
Kobe had his numbers (plural) retired at the Staples Center on Monday night. The game surrounding the event between the Lakers and Warriors went into OT. Kobe didn’t stay for OT. This was seemingly bigger news Tuesday morning than the game itself, or Kobe being called the Greatest to ever wear the Purple and Gold by Magic Johnson (the actual Greatest to ever wear the Purple and Gold). The game also ended because Lonzo seemingly forgot that his greatest skill is passing (like Magic) and not driving to the hole with time expiring and hitting the clutch shot (like Kobe).
That’s it for this week. I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the holiday season and I’ll be back in the New Year.
