Estimated Reading Time: 4 Minutes

Welcome to November. I’ve been actively avoiding covering the MLB Postseason on #humptakes, and I will continue that here, but holy shit what an amazing World Series. Because of that, my attention hasn’t been focused much of anywhere else, but let’s see what we can come up with.

Golden State no longer Golden Child
So far this NBA season there have been 4 ejections given out by refs. Of those 4, 3 belong to members of the Golden State Warriors and the 4th was because Bradley Beal punched Draymond Green in the face. What might be more surprising than 75% of the league’s suspensions being Warriors, is that only one of those belongs to Green. The other two are league poster boys Kevin Durant and Steph Curry. We discussed those last week, so let’s break down the Green – Beal altercation.

Now, I’m not entirely what Draymond is supposed to do in this situation. He gets slapped in the face, wrapped up by Beal, and comes out of the pile looking like Bruce Banner post transformation. (Side note: Nike. What is going on with these jerseys ripping. First LeBron’s got split down the middle on Opening Night and now this? Not a good look guys.) Beal ended up with a $50K fine and Draymond a $25K fine. Suspensions and lesser fines were handed down to a few Wizards’ players who came off the bench and joined the scrum. I understand that Green has become quite the villain in the NBA, but this scenario does not seem entirely fair. I get the ejection, but not the fact that his fine is higher than Kelly Oubre’s.

More Trouble for the Giants
Speaking of suspension, the New York Giants have suspended star CD Jenoris Jenkins indefinitely after failing to report back from their bye on time. For a team who has only had a tiny amount of success this season this is a huge blow, especially when you consider that success only happened because of the play of the defense. Things are not right in the Big Apple, and I’m amazed everyone still has their jobs. Though for how much longer no one can say.

Can we be done with this already???
Raise your hand if your sick of the Ezekiel Elliot soap opera.

Just serve your suspension and be done with it. Take ownership for your actions and sit out. Sure he wasn’t ever actually charged for the crime of domestic violence, but that just means the prosecutor didn’t think they had a winnable case. And it wasn’t an isolated incident.

When you most ardent defender is Skip Bayless, you’ve done something wrong.

In the NFL’s version of trick or treating, quite a few players found themselves making a last minute costume change. Here are the big ones:

New England sends Jimmy Garoppolo to 49ers for a Second Round Pick

So, I know the outcome of this is probably a bigger deal for SF and for Garoppolo, but at time of this writing, Tom Brady is the only QB on New England’s roster. They don’t even have a practice squad QB. That feels like playing with fire with your 40 year old franchise quaterback, even if he is the G.O.A.T. As for the Niner’s, this probably means they’re out of the Kirk Cousins lottery this offseason, unless of course Garoppolo ends up being a bust. BTW, since SF has also straight up released Brian Hoyer, I would exepct him to sign with the Patroits, because seriously, Tom Brady has no backup right now.

Miami sends Jay Ajayi to the Eagles for a 4th Rounder.

The biggest disappointment this entire season for me has been the performance of Jay Ajayi. Granted, Miami has had one of, if not THE, worst offenses in the NFL this season with an abysmal O Line and constantly playing from behind. Not exactly a great environment for a RB. Ajayi gets to go from a team that got blowout 40-0 to one that 7-1 and first in the NFC. Doesn’t get much better than that for him. And the Eagles add another back to replace injured Darren Sproles. The combination of Ajayi and Blount is going to make a lot of linebackers nervous, as both of those backs can run over people.

Carolina sends Kelvin Benjamin to the Bills for 3rd and 7th Round Picks
