You made it! It’s finally the end of another work week. Sure, the weekend has lost a bit of its luster lately, but no work is still no work, even if it is just sitting at home doing nothing. I mean, unless you have kids or a family or responsibilities and if so, that’s a “you” problem.
First we talked about robot umpires and I said nothing. Now we have a robot who can mash like some sort of cybernetic Ted Williams and I will not remain silent. Many people will talk about how automation is taking jobs away from hard working Americans. You might think they are referring to outdated professions like coal miners or orthopedists but this is really what they mean.
I have done much soul searching upon seeing this video and I have come to the unavoidable conclusion. I accept our new robot rulers. Humanity had a good run. We got our shot. Now it is time to relinquish control of this world and our mortal coil to those more capable of dealing with the craziness that impacts us these days.

You can fight it if you must. Change is hard for our now obsolete species but I will not go quietly into the night. I will, however, give up without a fight. I prefer to only take a stand when victory is already imminent and no real risk is undertaken. I suggest you follow suit. If you decide to go another direction, that is certainly your prerogative, but you have been cautioned.
You’ve seen what this machine can do to baseballs. Just imagine what it could do to footballs or tennis balls or any other ball we hold dear. I will not be letting that happen. You are either with us or against us. Your call.
