You made it! It’s finally the end of another work week. Sure, the weekend has lost a bit of its luster lately, but no work is still no work, even if it is just sitting at home doing nothing. I mean, unless you have kids or a family or responsibilities and if so, that’s a “you” problem.
As you probably already know, Andrew Benintendi’s career with the Boston Red Sox has come to an end. Wednesday night, he was traded to the Kansas City Royals in a three team deal. I won’t go into details on the trade. Partially because the Boston return is still incredibly vague with PTBNL’s all over the place and partially because I just don’t want to. I can’t say I hate it because I don’t know exactly what they got back. I can, however, say that I loved Beni and I’m pretty bummed to see him go. Sure, he stunk the last two seasons and it seems like they were trading a former top prospect at the absolute lowest his value could ever be, but… what do I know?
The Glass Is Half Full…Or Something
Today, I prefer to remember the good times. Like the above catch that is still one of the highlights of my sports fandom, at least in recent years. That game saving grab at the most crucial of moments will not be something I forget anytime soon. I hope Beni turns his career around in Kansas City (gross) and we see a glimpse of what he used to be and what I still believe he can be. The Red Sox lost a good one this week.
Thanks for the memories little guy. Good luck.
I really took the high road on this one and it feels unnatural. So let me just say one more thing real quick. Fuck Chaim Bloom and his attempt to turn the Red Sox into the Rays with a better stadium. Yeah I realize it’s on me for not seeing this coming. It couldn’t have happened any other way. Franchy fucking Cordero? Seriously?? That’s the headliner for the former top overall prospect and someone that was to be a building block for a decade? Franchy?? Good lord. It’s not even Chaim’s fault, it’s the cheap ass owners who got a couple World Series rings (yeah thanks I want more) and have decided to treat this billion dollar asset like the Pittsburg god damn Pirates.
PS – I reserve the right to take back what I said about Chaim if they win a world series in the next 5 years. I’ve made that clear right here, that’s how it works.
Sorry, here are some more highlights.
