NFL Week 16 Picks: Merry Picksmas

Estimated Reading Time: 6 Minutes

Is picking 80% of the week’s games good? It feels like it’s pretty good.

As we get ready to celebrate another holiday season, let’s hope Santa is bringing us some continued positive momentum.

Last Week = 12-3

Season-to-Date = 117-90-2

Cleveland Browns @ Green Bay Packers (-7.5) – Saturday @ 430pm ET

I trust Cleveland less here than Aaron Rodgers trusts (legitimate) scientists.

The Pick = Green Bay

Indianapolis Colts @ Arizona Cardinals (-1) – Saturday @ 815pm ET

One of these teams beat a conference rival and is riding high after their win.

The other lost to a divisional rival and seems to be reeling.

I am going to go with the team that needs the bounce back.

The Pick = Arizona

Detroit Lions @ Atlanta Falcons (-5.5)

You know I LOVE picking the Lions.

The Pick = Detroit

Baltimore Ravens @ Cincinnati Bengals (-2.5)

The Tyler Huntley story has been nice so far, but I think this divisional road game start gets the best of him.

The Pick = Cincinnati

Los Angeles Rams @ Minnesota Vikings (+3)

I think the Vikings’ rushing offense can weather the storm of being without Dalvin Cook for this game.

I just don’t think any other part of their gameplan can match up well with the Rams.

The Pick = Los Angeles

Buffalo Bills @ New England Patriots (-2.5)

Yes, I think the Patriots considering if their offense can get away with three total passes again is smart. Personally, I expect them to throw it a bit more and I expect a response from the whole team after the loss to Indy.

The Pick = New England

Jacksonville Jaguars @ New York Jets (-1)

With the way the Jaguars season has gone it feels too perfect they would win this week and cost themselves the #1 pick.

The Pick = Jacksonville

New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles (-10)

Philly has won 4 of 5, with their loss being to these very Giants at home.

This week, payback is spelled c-h-e-e-s-e-s-t-e-a-k.

The Pick = Philadelphia

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Carolina Panthers (+10)

I have watched too many Tom Brady games to think he’ll react well to being shutout by the Saints last week. This one could be ugly.

The Pick = Tampa Bay

Los Angeles Chargers @ Houston Texans (+9)

The Chargers will win this game, but likely not having their top offensive weapon in Austin Ekeler will keep them from covering.

The Pick = Houston

Chicago Bears @ Seattle Seahawks (-6.5)

The under for this game could be 21 and I’d still advise you to take it. I don’t feel confident either team is going to score a touchdown so I am taking the points.

The Pick = Chicago

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Kansas City Chiefs (-7.5)

The Chiefs might be without Kelce and Hill, but both players could also clear protocols by Sunday. Too much risk for me to take the favorite here.

The Pick = Pittsburgh

Denver Broncos @ Las Vegas Raiders (-1)

In their last six games the Broncos have gone W-L-W-L-W-L. So a W has to be coming here, right?

The Pick = Denver

Washington Football Team @ Dallas Cowboys (-10.5)

Dallas won this first matchup two weeks ago 27-20. The old adage would be playing at home would make the Cowboys likely to win by 3 more points. The extra .5 point scares me too much.

The Pick = Washington

Miami Dolphins @ New Orleans Saints (-3)

It’s another third-string quarterback start! I have picked against them every time, and I think I’ve lost most of those. So Ian Book, your time is now.

The Pick = New Orleans

Enjoy the games this weekend and happy holidays to you all!

Terry is from Massachusetts and is a passionate fan of the Patriots, Celtics, Red Sox and Bruins. He also will admit he only pays attention to Syracuse basketball when they're good. If there's a Twitter trade rumor even remotely associated with one of his teams, he's likely fallen for it. Finally, he believes 100% that if the Celtics had beaten the Heat in the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals they would have swept the Thunder in the Finals.
