NFL Week 2 picks from The Turf

Estimated Reading Time: 3 Minutes

NFL week 2 is upon us and so much has happened in the NFL that has changed the landscape of teams. It could change how you do your weekly office pick’em or what team you may choose to utilize in many survivor/eliminator pools. It may even change who you’re going to bet on when you take that rat tunnel into New Jersey so you can legally gamble… then come right back to the best city in the world before you breathe any more of the New Jersey air.

Anyways, here are Matt Branigan’s and Tyler Williams’ picks for week 2 minus the Thursday night game. That game I am confident that we both would have chosen Carolina. We will highlight a few games in between and after.

Tyler Williams:

49ers 21, Bengals 17
Chargers 34, Lions 20
Vikings 27, Packers 24
Titans 24, Colts 10
Patriots 45, Dolphins 3
Giants 17, Bills 6
Steelers 30, Seahawks 17
Cowboys 33, Redskins 14
Ravens 27, Cardinals 13
Jaguars 24, Texans 17
Chiefs 35, Raiders 21
Bears 24, Broncos 7
Saints 37, Rams 30
Eagles 30, Falcons 28
Browns 21, Jets 3

Patriots vs Dolphins: Of course I must highlight the Patriot. They are playing the “accused” Antonio Brown. That in itself is a whole article. They plan to feed him as well. Easy game for the Pats and should be a smooth transition for AB.

Cowboys vs Redskins: Washington did stand a chance before Derrius Guice went down with an injury. They have even less of a chance now. Although I for one am always excited to see AP play. Hope he runs ALL DAY!

Jaguars vs Texans: Some of you are saying you’re crazy. However, most of you didn’t watch 6th round pick Gardner Minshew set records and win Rookie of the week off of 3 quarters of work. The Jags defense got carved up last week but I expect a bounce back game for them.

Saints vs Rams: The Saints are coming off the game of the week last week against the Texans. I predict another likely outcome. This being the game of the week and another late 4th quarter score to secure the lead. Saints win.

Browns vs Jets: The Browns were disappointing last week. Understatement. Look for them to bounce back before Darnold’s case of mono. Yuck dude, a year in the city and you’re already infected.

Matt Branigans Picks:

Bengals 17, 49ers 14
Chargers 30, Lions 23
Packers 23, Vikings 21
Titans 21, Colts 20
Patriots 35, Dolphins 7
Bills 23, Giants 17
Seahawks 33, Steelers 17
Cowboys 33, Redskins 20
Ravens 24, Cardinals 20
Texans 28, Jaguars 14
Chiefs 35, Raiders 28
Broncos 20, Bears 17 (in OT)
Saints 24, Rams 23
Falcons 27, Eagles 24
Browns 21, Jets 14

Packers vs Vikings: Close game and we actually see some offense from the the Packers. Matt tells us to R-E-L-A-X as Rodgers and company secure another division win.

Titans vs Colts: Close game here. The Titans were very impressive last week. However, I think the story here will be the Andrew Luck-less Colts. Look for them to be underdogs for a decent amount of games this season.

Ravens vs Cardinals: Closer game than some would expect as the young dynamic QBs will put on a show for the public. The Ravens young gun Lamar Jackson showing Kyler Murray what it’s like to be a pro.

Falcons vs Eagles: Matt has an upset here for us. After the Falcons were basically embarrassed last week by the Vikings, he believes they will bounce back strong and take it to the Eagles who were among the most impressive teams in week 1.
