NFL Week 4 Picks: Pack Survive Scare; Texans Notch First Win; And Browns Win Again!

Week 3 was a rough week of picks for me, as I went 5-11. You know who went 5-11 last season? The New York Jets, Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Yeah, I was in that department this past weekend. But the good news is all of those teams (except for maybe the Jets haha!) will improve this season, so why can’t I!

Ugh really? Was I that bad?

Week 3 was a rough week of picks for me, as I went 5-11. You know who went 5-11 last season? The New York Jets, Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Yeah, I was in that department this past weekend. But the good news is all of those teams (except for maybe the Jets haha!) will improve this season, so why can’t I!

We had another game go to overtime that I thought for a moment was about to end in a third tie in three weeks. Thank God it didn’t. It’s like when you are at the roulette table at the casino, and some jackass bets on the double zero three times in a row and somehow wins…three times in a row. Luckily, the NFL wasn’t a jackass to us and the Saints pulled out the victory. Thanks Drew Brees!

Patrick Mahomes is still destroying everyone. Mahomes set a NFL record for most TD passes in his first three games finding the end zone 13 times through the air. He passed both Peyton Manning (12 TDs) and Tom Brady (11 TDs). Pretty good company there.

I am still not ready to call the Chiefs the best team in the league, however. The defense is not there. They are currently tied for last in the league in passing yards allowed, and dead last in the league in total yards allowed. Mahomes is on fire, but we cannot expect him to keep trending upwards as the season progresses. The defense has to play better.

The Browns got their first win, and I am pretty sure Baker Mayfield will never have to buy a drink in Cleveland ever again…unless of course they keep losing and revert back to old Browns ways. But if I am Hue Jackson, I am rolling with Mayfield from here on out.

I almost called the Colts over Eagles upset, but clearly something was off with Andrew Luck. When you have to pull him from the game to put Jacoby Brissett in there to throw a late-game Hail Mary, you know something is wrong with Luck, and that is certainly not good for Indy.

If I am facing the Colts this season, I am making Luck beat me deep, as I do not think he is capable of really moving the ball deep downfield right now. The man threw the ball 40 times and only managed to log 164 passing yards. Luck averaged 4.1 yards per completion against the Eagles.

The Bills defensive line finally showed up to play…Packers looked awful…Ravens are a complete wild card…Cowboys and Cardinals are duking it out for the Worst Offense in the League Award…Patriots got embarrassed…Steelers rebounded (barely)…and what happened to the Jaguars?! Oh yeah, that’s right, maybe their offense is just…not that good. I’ve been saying that since before the season started.

Alrighty, to the picks!

Last Week’s Record: 5-11 (WOOF)

Season Record: 24-24
