NFL Week 7: Where Terry Plays Hurt, But Feels More Ws on the Horizon

I won’t lie, I’m not feeling well. Despite another week with more W’s than L’s, my energy level is not where any of us want it to be.

NFL Week 7: Where Terry Plays Hurt, But Feels More Ws on the Horizon

Estimated Reading Time: 7 Minutes

I won’t lie, I’m not feeling well. Despite another week with more W’s than L’s, my energy level is not where any of us want it to be.

There’s an urge to possibly call this my Jordan Flu Game. I’m not THAT sick though, and from what we know about Jordan’s gambling I doubt he could go 48-37-2 against the spread through six weeks.

Despite playing hurt, I’m ready to go and for this positive momentum to take us close to the halfway point of this NFL season.

Week 4 = 8-5

Season-to-Date = 48-37-2

Week 7 of the 2021-22 NFL Season

Washington Football Team @ Green Bay Packers (-8.5)

Green Bay is very much in contention for the #1 seed. But their competition (Zona/TB/LA) are all bigger favorites this week. This Packers team seems to be all about motivation each week to play to their potential.

I think that’s a good enough carrot for them to blow out WFT.

The Pick = Green Bay

Kansas City Chiefs @ Tennessee Titans (+5.5)

The Transitive Property would tell you that where the Titans beat the Bills and the Bills beat the Chiefs then the Titans should beat the Chiefs.

Then again, that’s not at all how football works so I apologize for wasting all of our time just now.

I still really like Tennessee covering here. I think there would be letdown potential if the Titans were playing the Jets this week, but this is another AFC contender.

The Pick = Tennessee

Atlanta Falcons @ Miami Dolphins (+2.5)

I could have sworn this game already happened. It didn’t? You’re sure?

Ugh, fine. I’m going to take the Falcons but I won’t be happy about it.

The Pick = Atlanta

New York Jets @ New England Patriots (-7)

I’ve covered that I’m less than thrilled with how this season is going for New England.

The fact is the Patriots can not continue to be winless at home. And even though beating the Jets by a touchdown plus won’t mean much for the rest of the season, I still like it to happen.

The Pick = New England

Carolina Panthers @ New York Giants (+3)

Sam Darnold had his chance to show the Jets they were wrong to ditch him in Week 1. Now, he gets the chance to shove it right in the faces of people from NY/NJ.

The Pick = Carolina

Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens (-6.5)

These teams are #2 (Ravens) and #3 (Bengals) in the AFC in net points this season. I just still can’t bring myself to think the Bengals are even close to the same level.

I’m thinking I might be wrong though and I’m ready to give Cincy a shot.

The Pick = Cincinnati

Philadelphia Eagles @ Las Vegas Raiders (-3)

The Eagles have played the Cowboys, Chiefs, and Buccaneers already. Their remaining schedule has two games vs. WFT & the Giants, and games against the Jets, Lions, and Broncos.

My point is, if the Eagles are going to go on a run here (and I think they can), it’s going to begin this week vs. Las Vegas.

The Pick = Philadelphia

Detroit Lions @ Los Angeles Rams (-15)

The “Matt Stafford” Revenge Game…

[but why gif]

I can’t wrap my head around this. Brady wanted to stay and BB forced him out. That revenge game I understand.

But the Stafford-Lions marriage seemed like an amicable split where Detroit set their former #1 overall pick up pretty nicely. It’s like if the ex-husband bought the ex-wife a nice new condo in a cool, sexy part of town, but the ex-wife also put in a good word for the ex-husband with her friend he always thought was cute.

And why is Aaron Donald picking on Jared Goff like that? If anything, this should be a “Jared Goff Revenge Game” except his team stinks.

I sneaky like a garbage Detroit touchdown to cover the spread though.

The Pick = Detroit

Houston Texans @ Arizona Cardinals (-18)

Now, THIS is pod raci…oops, sorry, THIS is a revenge game!

Watt & Hopkins are going to make both sides of the ball miserable for Houston.

The Pick = Arizona

Chicago Bears @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-12.5)

Tampa Bay has had 10 days to prepare for this Bears team with the worst passing offense in the league. I think the Bucs open this up quite a bit and Chicago won’t be able to come close to keeping up.

The Pick = Tampa Bay

Indianapolis Colts @ San Francisco 49ers (-4)

I checked the weather again since that tweet is from Thursday. The forecast has not changed, but what will be different is the Colts have their best offensive lineman back on the active roster.

I think San Francisco wins but by no more than three points.

The Pick = Indianapolis

New Orleans Saints @ Seattle Seahawks (+5)

New Orleans has had two weeks to prepare for Geno Smith. Do I need to keep going?

The Pick = New Orleans

Ok, we made it through. Good work by you, and to be honest, better work by me.

Enjoy Week 7!

Terry is from Massachusetts and is a passionate fan of the Patriots, Celtics, Red Sox and Bruins. He also will admit he only pays attention to Syracuse basketball when they're good. If there's a Twitter trade rumor even remotely associated with one of his teams, he's likely fallen for it. Finally, he believes 100% that if the Celtics had beaten the Heat in the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals they would have swept the Thunder in the Finals.
