Thursday Night Football: Titans @ Jaguars

Estimated Reading Time: 3 Minutes

What a week for Thursday night football. I mean you want to talk about drama. We have it here in this night. This may be one of the most exciting Thursday night games that we have seen in a while. Typically not the greatest teams get this game. The NFL usually reserves Sunday and Monday nights for primetime. Hence, why we have the Tennessee Titans at the Jacksonville Jaguars facing off in about 30 minutes.

However, we have some drama boiling here. Never mind that this game features two bitter divisional rivals in the AFC South. Never mind that the Tennessee Titans have swept the Jacksonville Jaguars the last two seasons. Never mind that in the last 5 years we have had scores like 20-16, 19-13, 42-39, 10-10, 9-6. Close games are the history of this rivalry. This rivalry has some history that stings Jags fans especially. Being the only team to beat the Jags in 1999 and keeping them out of the super bowl. Jags lost 3 games that season, all to the Titans. See here!

That’s all besides the point. Ladies and gentleman, on this specific Thursday evening we have superstar trade request and rookie qb sensations. Of course we have the Titans who are about as bland as mayonnaise. At the end of this little piece you will get my pick for the game.

WTF!

After a sideline spat with head coach Doug Marrone on Sunday Jalen Ramsey has officially requested to be traded. Rumors site a lot of reasons for Jalen to feel this way. Latest word is that the spat with Marrone has nothing to do with it but this has everything to do with Tom Coughlin. Interesting. Jalen is in full uniform and is starting tonight. Jags fans take a good hard look because this may be the last time you see Jalen in teal and black. Word is out and many teams want the superstar talent on their you established team. Wear your Jersey with pride and understand you’re going to trade away the best talent to ever walk into the organization.

The Stache

Gardner Minshew the rookie sensations who stepped in for Nick Foles and hasn’t looked back since. Minshew, a 6th round pick, is looking for his first NFL victory. Did I mention, this guy has garnered so much attention that he received a million dollar porn endorsement that he turned down. That makes sense because he is very efficient and relentlessly plays hard. Minshew had to turn down the contract reportedly and yes it was a lot more than his rookie deal. He has taken the country by storm and he hasn’t even won yet.

My Pick

I think it’s clear here I’m picking the Jags. Jalen is going to have a field day. Look for him to increase his trade value tonight or else it could be off to the Jets for Ramsey. Minshew will look to take another step in his game against this very stingy Titans defense.

Derrick Henry will be a man among boys and that is pretty typical for him when he plays the Jags. The Jaguars just bring out something different in Henry. Maybe it’s because he’s from the Jacksonville area. Last season he broke a 99 yard run while tossing around Jags like rag dolls. Marshawn “hold muh ****” type stuff.

Jaguars over Titans 32-14

Baltimore made me. Duval raised me. New York saved me. I'm a Jags fan for life and don't ever disrespect it. I'm Duval Til' We Die #DTWD. Florida Gators over everybody. Dodgers to win it all. Since moving to NYC I have become a Brooklyn Nets fan and am still trying to pick a hockey team. Those are my main rooting interest. I'm the head NFL Writer for the Turf.
