Wednesday Night Wars Preview: June 10th

Estimated Reading Time: 2 Minutes

This is a weekly rundown of what to watch for on wrestling’s Wednesday Night Wars on AEW Dynamite (airing at 8 p.m. on TNT) and NXT (airing at 8 p.m. on USA). We will do our very best to hit you with the can’t-miss segments from both shows’ simultaneous broadcasts so you won’t miss out. Now get your thumb on the recall button and HIT MY MUSIC!

AEW Dynamite (Wednesday 8 p.m., TNT Network)

This Wednesday AEW continues its strong showcase of its tag team division. FTR, in their debut match, will take on The Butcher and The Blade. As you recall FTR attacked Butcher and Blade when they made their surprise appearance two weeks ago on Dynamite.

Cody is set to defend his TNT Championship against Private Party’s Marq Quen. It seems AEW and Cody are set to, in part, put over some talent. Getting some fresh faces featured on episodes of Dynamite. If we look at Cody’s first title defense last week against Jungle Boy, despite the loss Jungle Boy came out looking very strong. Will the same be said for Marq Quen? We’ll find out Wednesday.

NXT (Wednesday 8 p.m., USA Network)

NXT will air its first show since the NXT: In Your House pay-per-view and will deal with the fallout from that show. Adam Cole will fight Dexter Lumis in a non-title match. After Cole defeated the Velveteen Dream on Sunday, we saw Lumis pack Cole’s buddies Bobby Fish and Roderick Strong of the Undisputed ERA into the trunk of his car.

I feel this might be the beginnings of the next big feud for Adam Cole and his NXT Championship.

The other match to watch for Wednesday is Finn Balor vs Cameron Grimes. Balor lost last month to Grimes on NXT TV and he looks to avenge that loss this week. Finn Balor just defeated Damian Priest this past weekend. He could also stake a claim to be considered in the NXT Title picture.

We should see some clear developments Wednesday on what feuds are going to look like over the course of the summer in NXT. Wednesday is definitely going to be a night of flipping back and forth between the rival shows.

There are your previews, now if you’ll excuse me it’s time to celebrate a job well done with A LITTLE BIT OF THE BUBBLY!
