Estimated Reading Time: 7 Minutes

This is a weekly rundown of what to watch for Wednesday on AEW Dynamite (airing at 8 p.m. on TNT) And NXT (airing at 8 p.m. on USA). We’ll do our very best to hit you with the can’t-miss segments from both shows’ simultaneous broadcasts.

Now, HIT MY MUSIC!

If you thought Night 1 of Fyter Fest vs The Great American Bash shook the wrestling world and electrified Wednesday nights.

AEW presents Fyter Fest: Night 2 (8 p.m., TNT Network)

AEW looks to one up their Night 1 performance with the stacked card they are rolling out for Fyter Fest Night 2 on Wednesday. A tag team title match, Women’s Championship match and a very spectacular tag team match between MJF/Wardlow and Luchasaurus/Jungle Boy capped off the highlights for Night 1. Let’s see what is in store Wednesday for Night 2 of Fyter Fest.

Will Colt Cabana finally pledge his allegiance to the Dark Order and Mr. Brodie Lee? We’ll find out in trios action when SCU goes up against the Dark Order (Brodie Lee, Stu Grayson, and Colt Cabana). We will also have the Murder Hawk Lance Archer going up against Joey Janela. Things got heated last week between the two. Janela is known for his ability to have some rough and tumble matches so be sure to check in to see the high profile spots and bumps he is sure to take.

The tag team titles are again on the line Wednesday when Private Party get their shot at Hangman Adam Page & Kenny Omega. Both coming off wins last week on Night 1. Will Page and Omega be able to successfully defend their titles two weeks in a row against tough opponents? Or will this be the dawn of Private Party’s tag team title run.

Is the Orange Cassidy era here?

Speaking of dawns. Will this be the dawn of the Orange Cassidy era in AEW? Freshly Squeezed looks to make an impact by defeating the most influential member of the AEW roster, Chris Jericho. These two have been going at it in recent weeks. Jericho mentioned last year that if he could help bring some notoriety to the brand and put over some young rising talent in AEW that is the direction he sees himself taking. This would be a great opportunity. He has helped get Orange Cassidy over all ready. Putting on a great match would really boost the fan favorites status in the company.

Must see match of the night!

This one gets the nod. And I’ll call it here. Match of the night! You may want to consider DVRing the NXT main event and watch this match spoiler free on Wednesday night.

In 8 man tag action its Young Bucks & FTR vs Lucha Bros & Butcher and Blade.

If you miss it, you better be dead or in jail. If you're in jail, break out!

This is going to be amazing! First off The Young Bucks and FTR two of the three best tag teams in the world teaming up. This a build to their eventual match most likely at All Out at summers end. And on the other side you have the other tag team in that ‘best in the world; category, the Lucha Bros. Not to mention the ‘brothers being back in action together for the first time in months on AEW Television. This match will have everything. And should leave us with a nice build moving forward.

NXT presents The Great American Bash Night 2  (8 p.m., USA Network)

The Bash is Back for Night 2!

As Night 1 proved NXT is firing on all cylinders, and they look to hold serve with their viewers Wednesday. AEW won the ratings war for Night 1 but NXT had more viewers. I guess that’s like winning the popular vote, but not the electoral college. Yup…still too soon!

First up on our must watch list is Candice LeRae vs. Mia Yim in a Street Fight. Yup that’s right. Two of the toughest women in NXT and going at it in an all out brawl!

Another match just announced today will be Johnny Gargano vs Isaiah “Swerve” Scott. Or, as fan of the indies may know him. Shane Strickland. This should be a good match to get “Swerve” over with the NXT fan base. I’ve seen this guy up close and let me tell you, he is as athletic as anyone. Definitely a must-see match! And could be the show stealer.

Winner takes all Wednesday Night

Not if Adam Cole and Keith Lee have anything to say about it. On Wednesday night it’s a winner take all match between the NXT North American Champion (Lee) and the NXT Champion (Cole). And it should be amazing. And I’ll say it again. Pick your brand, watch the main event you just have to see live. But DVR the other main event because both are worthy of your undivided attention. Both Lee and Cole look to make history by being the brands first double champ. Lee gets the opportunity after successfully defending the North American Title 2 weeks ago against Fin Balor and Johnny Gargano. Could Adam Cole’s record setting title reign come to an end? We’ll find out at the Bash….Bay-Bay!

Shots Fired!

After WWE fired a shot and went with The Great American Bash as their event name, which was created by AEW EVP Cody Rhodes’ father back in the 80s. AEW fired back in the form of a Taz shoot where he chided Jon Moxley for not being available for this Wednesday’s scheduled match with Brian Cage.

Moxley’s wife Renee Young (who works for the WWE) contracted COVID-19. And while Mox has yet to test positive, decided it was in his best nature to steer clear of AEW competition and allow for the proper quarantine. To wit Taz pointed out to Mox that he would be tested twice upon arrival and before his match. And reminded Mox that (unlike other places) AEW doesn’t run a “sloppy shop”. A line that reportedly irked those over at the WWE.
